Twin Baby Shot

We tried to take the twin baby set's picture today with our horrible digital camera and it was a miserable experience for all. Does your digital camera have a delay when you push the button to take a picture? This is exasperating with fraternal twins. It's impossible to keep twin twin babies still, let get them to smile at the same time for more than a milli-second, so when the digital camera doesn't respond immediately, it's impossible to get a descent twin baby shot.

I'll post the picture we're going to use, but I'm definitely not happy with it. They look like deer in headlights. What do you think?

Oh, we're buying a new digital camera for Christmas!

Fraternal Twins have Pink Eye

The twin baby set seems to be dealing with a case of pink eye. The twin sister had it last week, but I really didn’t think it was pink eye until the twin baby boy showed signs of it last night. We ordered some pink eye relief drops from the twin twin store.

I thought pink eye was much worse than this: the fraternal twins seem tired, and the area on their eyelids, around the eyes, is red with guppies. It’s worse after they wake up since the guppies seem more excessive and are dried up, almost keeping their eyes shut.

The twin sister isn’t showing any symptoms today, but the twin baby boy ‘s eye is still red, just the left one.

We had plans to have some friends over today: a set of fraternal twins born just six weeks after our twins, and their mom of course, were going to come over to play and eat lunch, but I called them last night to let them know about the baby boy’s eyes, and they decided not to come. I was sure that would be the outcome.

Twin Baby Hurts Leg in Carseat Carrier

Yesterday, the twin baby boy injured his leg because he's gotten too big for the carseat carrier, the one that snaps into the car base. His legs are too long, so when the twin twin father put the carrier into the base, the twin baby 's leg was turned just the wrong way. He cried only for a second or two, and we checked his legs to make sure they weren't broken.

So I went out and bought carseats today. It is for 22-100 pound children, and we're not supposed to use them until they're one-year-old, so what do we do? Do we wait to use the new carseats until the end of Jan when they are one and risk hurting their legs again?
I decided we need to use the new carseats so I put an ad up on craigslist for the carriers.

Twin Baby Boy Falls while Strapped in Bouncer

The twin baby boy had a mishap in the bouncers (bouncy chairs) this morning. The twin twin father fed the fraternal twins and afterward, he put them in the bouncers (bouncy chairs) to give them a few moments for their stomachs to settle before crawling around.

Yes, he strapped them into the bouncers (bouncy chairs) and while the twin sister sat contently watching The Wiggles, the twin boy decided to sit up instead of leaning back. Now everything from here is speculation on my part, but I will tell you that I warned the twin twin father not to leave them unattended in those bouncers (bouncy chairs) - even strapped in – because they’re just getting too big. Anyway, the father says he went downstairs to rinse the bottles.

I heard the twin baby boy screaming – and it wasn’t an “I want out scream.” It was an “I’m hurt or in trouble” scream. Fortunately, I was just across the hall, and when I got to the playroom, the twin baby boy was upside down with his head under the bouncers (bouncy chairs) and he was still strapped to the thing.

These bouncers (bouncy chairs) have been great, but there comes a point when the twin baby set is just too big.

Has this happened to your fraternal twins or twin baby set?

Twin Baby Left out in the Snow

Today it’s snowing out, and we’re expecting to get about 12 inches. The twin baby set needs snowsuits - I guess we should have thought of that before now. I thought we could just wrap them in blankets, but what about their heads?

The twin twin father will want to take the fraternal twins outside in the snow, but the twin sister would quickly come out of her blanket since she is constantly on the move, and what if something happened to one of the fraternal twins, and we had to rush in the house, and left one twin baby outside without being in snowsuits - that could be a bad thing.

So today, before we plan to go outside, I’m going to MY STORE ONLINE to order the snowsuits

Do you think it will be okay to take them out in blankets before the snowsuits arrive?

Twin Baby Hurt on Fireplace Hearth

We had to buy the twin baby set corner and edge guards today because the twin sister is pulling herself up onto the side table in the playroom, and the twin baby boy just pulled himself up for the first time today.

I put the corner and edge guards on the table and on the wall corners where they stick out by the closet.

I know these corner and edge guards won’t keep the fraternal twins from getting hurt, but they will at least protect the twin baby set from these corners and edges.

In this picture, the twin baby set is sitting on the fireplace. I know those corner and edge guards would help here too, but the fraternal twins aren’t really in the family room, unless they’re in the walker - so they can’t get to the fireplace edges yet.

I saw on Amazon that fireplace edge guards are also available, but for the number of feet in each package type, the corner and edge guards are actually more economical. I do think the fireplace edge guards may actually be bulkier, to cover more, so they may be better for the fireplace. I guess we’ll deal with that when the twin baby set outgrow their walkers.

Twin Stroller

My fraternal twins have really outgrown their Double Snap N Go by Baby Trend Swann. This twin stroller has been the absolute best since it weighs half as much as the DuoGlider by Graco and it fits into a much smaller space.

The twin stroller is actually just an twin twin infant carseat carrier frame, not an actual stroller, since it requires the carseat carrier to hold the twin baby set.
The twin stroller frame has been a life saver for my twin boy and twin girl twin baby set, but once they reach about 22 pounds, they are ready to move into the DuoGlider by Graco which is also a great twin stroller. The DuoGlider allows you to just set the infant carseat carriers into the stroller or use the stroller seats once the twin baby set can sit up.
If you get this twin stroller, be aware that only ONE infant carseat carrier comes with it, if you buy the DuoGlider by Graco TRAVEL SYSTEM, and it is less expensive for a twin twin family to purchase.

Twin Boy Hurting Twin Girl for Pacifier Binky

This week the fraternal twins turned 10 months old and had their first Thanksgiving. I've noticed that the twin boy is asserting his strength a bit more: he takes his twin sister 's binky (pacifier) quite often, even when he has a binky (pacifier) in his own twin twin mouth.

I'm not so concerned about the twin boy taking the twin girl 's binky, but what about when he starts hitting or scratching his twin sister ? Actually, he scratches now, not on purpose, but he likes to grab things, especially the twin girl 's blinking eyes.

How can I stop this?

Twin Baby in Prison with Baby Gate

The fraternal twins are now able to crawl. The twin girl has been doing it for about three weeks, and the twin boy just started. The twin baby set can also pull themselves up onto their knees.

The fraternal twins ‘ dad had to install a wall-mount baby gate on the playroom door and at the top of the stairs, for obvious reasons, but don’t they look pitiful in their little twin twin prison?
This wall-mount baby gate is the safest for twin baby set because it is not a pressure-type of gate, which means it won't collapse or fall when twin twin babies shake it or stand on it.
If you click this link wall-mount baby gate you can get one for $55, which is $10 less than we paid at the local BRU store.

Twin Girl Standing Alone with Baby Walker

This week the twin girl started standing by herself. Her twin boy brother still cannot pull himself up. The twin girl can stand for about one minute without holding on to anything. She's 9.5 months old, and with the twin pregnancy ending at 35 weeks, the twin girl is right on track, even though she could easily be a bit behind.

The twin girl has the baby walker. Someone told me they were outlawed and not available, but that's just not true. The fraternal twins have two different brands, so that we could switch them when they got bored. The twin girl has the Safety 1st walker and the twin boy has the stationary exercauser. I wonder if this has helped the twin girl learn to stand alone sooner than the twin boy.

Twin Baby Costumes

See twin baby costume

The twin baby set had its first Halloween. The twin girl was a pumpkin; the twin boy was a pumpkin as well. In fact, they wore the same twin baby costume. I had only one costume that a friend gave me, so I dressed the twin boy in it first and took his picture, then I dressed the twin girl in the same costume and took her picture. After I got a few good ones of each, I “photoshop’d” the fraternal twins ‘ pictures together, so now it looks like the twin twin s are together. I draped a black sheet over the stair banister, and that made it much easier to put the twin twin pictures together.

The costume was a bit tight on the twin boy, but it fit the twin girl just fine. In case you’re wondering, the twin boy is on the left. The twin baby girl looks a bit like a baby boy.

We didn’t have many trick-or-treaters, which was probably good since I could dress only one of the fraternal twins in a costume.
